Success of the 1st WP BEACH Mallorca
Mallorca Waterpolo Club’s “Taurons Naranja” team has been crowned champion of the 1st WP BEACH Mallorca Tournament, an event that brought together teams from Barcelona, Girona, and Mallorca over the weekend for a competition defined by spectacular action, intense rivalry, and a fantastic atmosphere surrounding beach water polo.
The first edition of WP BEACH Mallorca was an outstanding success. Organized by WP CAMP and the Balearic Swimming Federation, the tournament concluded this Sunday after three days of competition, good vibes, and side events for the participants.
On finals day, the Mallorcan squad capped off their campaign by defeating CN Banyoles B—who finished in second place—in the final match. The podium was rounded out by the CN Molins masters team, which secured the bronze medal following an impressive tournament performance.
The awards ceremony was attended by David Salom, Director General of Sports for the Palma City Council, and Núria Perea, President of the Balearic Swimming Federation, who presented the prizes to the top-performing teams. In addition to the team awards, other notable honors included:
- MVP: Sergi Gregorio (Mallorca WPC)
- Best Goalkeeper: Clara de la Torre (CN Banyoles)
- Fair Play: CE Illes Balears
The 1st WP BEACH Mallorca Tournament wrapped up an exciting weekend of beach water polo, featuring hard-fought matches, a great turnout from participants, and a spectacular atmosphere. The competition also served as an excellent opportunity to promote a dynamic, engaging sport that connects well with the public and has the potential for continued growth in future editions.
As organizers, we are extremely pleased with how the tournament unfolded and with the commitment shown by the teams, athletes, coaches, referees, volunteers, and institutions.
